Artist Bio

Thanks for your interest in my business: MD Jewelry Design.

My name is Megan Austin (formally Megan Dennis) and I am the owner and artist responsible for the pieces displayed on my website. I am a PMC Certified Instructor who teaches at four different locations around Atlanta. For a list of these locations and the class descriptions and dates offered please go to the Calendar section of my website.

I love symbolism and try to create pieces that possess meaning and that will have significance and meaning to their owners. Hopefully the jewelry you design and purchase will be a piece that you cherish for years to come.

I am known in the jewelry world for my expertise in polishing Opal, Ammolite, Larimar, and Turquoise. I typically get orders from other retail jewelers for these stones and I am one of roughly 10 polishers in the USA that possesses the skill to polish Ammolite. I get all of my stones in the rough direct from the mine. I am exceptionally familiar with the properties of the four stones listed above and know a little information about all of the others I offer on my website. Please beware of a jeweler that expresses knowledge on every stone and do your own research on the stone you are interested in purchasing before you purchase it. When setting my stones, I try and pull the design in the silver from the stone which makes the piece stronger visually as a whole.

I have entered my jewelry in many exhibits and I now go to Arts and Craft shows all around the US to sell my pieces. I have a show schedule on the Calendar page of my website. I am also an active member of the Glynn Art Association, The North Cobb Art League (NCAL), The Cherokee Art League, and The Metal Clay Artisans of Atlanta.

My mission is to provide the highest quality items for the best price possible. I believe that everyone deserves to own something beautiful and meaningful, therefore I collaborate with my clients to capture the unique images or ideas they have and create a wonderful piece of jewelry that they will cherish for many years to come. I will also work with clients any way I can by offering payment plans and barter/exchange etc. to allow them to get the piece of jewelry they want even if they cannot afford it. I also offer a free piece of jewelry if a client is willing to host a jewelry party.

My business has been in operation since 2010 and I
will be adding extra features, and pieces to the site over the next few months, so come back regularly.

Thank you for stopping by!
