Product Description

This bracelet is made with Mookaite Jasper that show shades of red, cream, marigold, and sometimes even pink.  The Mookaite Jasper have faceted red Garnets as accent stones. The Mookaite Jasper measure roughly 18mm by 10mm and I used PMC Paper Clay for the bezel settings and traditional chain mail techniques to join each bezel so the bracelet bends and moves freely. The bracelet measures 7 inches in length but is adjustable up to 8 inches.

Mookaite (also spelled as mookite or mokaite) is a type of jasper found in Australia. It comes in various, rich colors, mixed together.

Its name origin is from Australia. The word Mookaite comes from the aborigine language that means "whitewater" as a reference to the place where it was found: Mooka Creek.

The true name of this stone is Windalia radiolarite. You can also find it as Australian japser, mookite, mookalite, mookerite, moakite, moukalite and Moukaite.

This stone is described as a silica porcelain that you can find in the Carnarvon Basin in Western Australia. You can also find opalite and chalcedony. It is a sedimentary fossilized rock located under the riverbed where silica mixed with white clay and petrified.

Mookaite (also called Australian Jasper) is a powerful healing stone that helps provide stability to one’s perspective of life, helping make the right decisions based on objective knowledge. Mookaite connects one to the energies of the earth, allowing for a deeper connection to the eternal instinct of the spirit in human form. Mookaite, considered to be a very good emotional protector, gives a useful balance between our inner and our external experiences. It also increases the desire for new experiences, making us more flexible and open to new ideas. It helps us being kind to others and to ourselves, by increasing our self-esteem.

Mookaite is a healing stone. It gives strength, and it is considered as a wound-healing and regenerating stone, stabilizing health, fortifying the immune system, cleaning the blood and preventing water retention.

Jasper is a variety of quartz. All quartz is considered to be quite durable compared to most other gemstones. Jasper can be easily cleaned using warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or brush. Be sure to rinse it well to remove any soapy residue. Even though quartz has excellent hardness and durability, there are still a variety of other materials easily capable of scratching jasper, including diamond, sapphire, spinel and topaz. Avoid wearing or storing mixed gems together, in order to prevent scratches and fractures to your gemstones and jewelry.

As with most gemstones, avoid the use of any harsh household chemicals (bleach, sulfuric acid etc.) when caring for or cleaning jasper. Jasper is quite porous which allows it to be easily stained, absorbing other chemicals and colors very easily. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, as heating quartz can permanently alter the color of your gemstones. When storing jasper, wrap it in a soft cloth and place it inside a fabric-lined box for added protection. Always remove gems and jewelry before exercising or playing any vigorous sports.

Store your jasper jewelry separate from other gemstones in pure cotton or velvet because harder stones will scratch the surface of your fossil.
